Episode 13 – Black Butler: Emerald Witch Arc

Whether it is part of the official society’s debut, or presented to Queen Victoria by strict and very specific rules and any other historical issues Black housekeeper I’m glad to say it’s beautiful. Sieglinde’s dress meets the standards set by the Queen – White (because she is unmarried), the train and veil are long enough to cover the train, feathers on her headdress. In the modern eye, it looks a lot like a wedding dress, and indeed, many young women’s corsets can be swapped out so that expensive clothes can meet both purposes while looking like two separate clothes. (Victoria popularized white for wedding dresses, though not for that reason.) Just as easygoing as the Queen seemed in this show, Sebastian was right to drill the proper etiquette into Siglinde and Wolfram, because she could indeed be a stick for such rules.
Still, this episode is Sebastian’s most devilish, nothing like his “I’m a disguised butler” stuffed in Sieglinde and Wolfram’s mouth with those torture devices. They look like hell’s dental equipment, and they are the perfect way to showcase his course upgrades. Sebastian snatched the cake from Sieglinde’s nose, forcing Wolfram to use English, a principal who ended up being a royal torturer. He has always been Martinet, but that does go beyond it.
Thankfully, I must admit that this is not a sentence I thought I wrote. (In general, I find her annoying.) She is Sebastian’s honey, which shows how she overcomes her jealousy with Sigrin very quickly and is committed to helping her, which includes forcing Ciel out of her comfort zone. Sure, Soma is willing to keep playing, but the most important part of Lizzie’s plan is to let Ciel relax. It may not look like it, but he is playing with his peers, and his usual situation with others is more appropriate than his age than his interactions with others. He is detoxifying from a German mission, which he needs very much.
Among other things, this arc shows the luggage Ciel carries with him. Sure, he had a very small moment of collapse, but the problems caused by his exposure to toxic gases are deeper and more painful than anything we see him – and this is a boy who lost his parents and discovers that his aunt is a serial killer, which is a serial killer she Dead, and then there are many other horrible experiences next to it, without saying that his closest confidant and companion is a literal demon. If his past situation was even worse, it must be a fool… He will “wake up” sooner or later and deal with it.
Has Undertaker been protecting him from those traumatic memories? Maybe, maybe not intentional. His brief visit to Ciel here (technically part of the next arc) involves pouring a mysterious liquid into his mouth and telling him to go back to sleep and not yet awake. It is almost certainly a statement with two meanings, the first is that Ciel shouldn’t literally wake up, but more importantly, it’s not the time for him to remember something he’s forgotten or suppressed. We know that Undertaker has a love for Phantom Pair (or perhaps loyal) and therefore, his intentions seem good based on his definition of the word. Sebastian also seems unaware of his visit or his Ciel Ingest, though Sebastian is his identity, but may just hold his card tightly.
As the curtains of the Green Witch Arc fell on the mountains, we can only hope that it won’t rise up on the blue cult for too long. Until then, I bid for you.
