Episode 11 – Apocalypse Hotel

I’ll sound exaggerated when writing Hotel Revelation again. It must be a day that ends with “Y”. Seriously, I know I’ve been saying a lot in the comments, but this is probably my favorite episode of the year so far. It is a slow, quiet, patient and meditation on the elasticity of life. This release is also different from any previous episode, so that’s exactly the heat that’s hanging in the week of this series. I was shocked by the confidence in the display and the implicit trust in the audience.
I also describe it in words very cheaply, because this episode subtly gave up on them. Although there was little conversation at first, once Yachiyo left the hustle and bustle of the hotel, the experience began and began a speechless walk in Ginza and beyond. This is not a topic-complex entry either. Yachiyo is still alive, although inorganic. The legacy of mankind can also be said to be reduced to collapsed buildings, broken consumer goods and gorgeous Pachiko shops. Nevertheless, these ruins are on the scaffolding where nature continues to thrive. So much time has passed, and animals are no longer afraid of humans. They flock to Yachiyo and therefore were not punished.
Meanwhile, Yachiyo avoids death by harvesting spare parts similar to her model from the damaged Android. Her time on this planet will not be infinite, and the autumn landscape is full of omnipresent reminders. However, death is the reason for giving meaning to life. Therefore, Yachiyo is still alive.
This is a good message (consider a kind of ironic message from Brouhaha last week), but Hotel RevelationThe real glory lies in execution. Frankly, this episode is great. Animators pay extra attention to the subtle movements and expressions of the animation Yachiyo. The background artist depicts a tandem of lush post-apocalyptic landscapes dotted with rust and moss. Complex works and color works are impeccable, drawing your eyes further and further into each scene. Chengzhi Liao’s storyboard and guidance sparked an intoxicating melancholy, opening up the windows where Yachiyo works in the hotel. Overall, the staff produced an animated tone poem that avoids words and minimizes plot to touch more primitive means of communication. This is an attraction to life.
Although the atmosphere is more gloomy, Hotel RevelationThere is no lack of weird sense of humor. Ponco seems to care more about the darkness of labor laws (when is the last time) than the humans who wrote them your The boss ordered you to take a vacation? ). Foreseeable, Yachiyo was unable to turn off manager mode, which caused laughter. While it was sad, it was also fun to spend the day looking for a small but crucial hardware she couldn’t have worked without. It doesn’t seem like a relaxing holiday, but as a metaphor, it’s certainly similar to how I spent my limited time. Most importantly, we also got some classic Yachiyo reaction surfaces from the tour. It is worth mentioning the Caucasus.
While this might be a silly theme about such an ambitious paragraph, I love seeing Yachiyo in all these different costumes. Once she showed up in that loose “happy” hoodie, I knew I was on a special episode. To be clear, the design of her usual uniform is amazing, but I always appreciate it when the anime takes the opportunity to have an impromptu show. The animator who put together Yachiyo’s new costumes also did impeccable work. They are stylish and not too flashy. I need autumn wear like this. Furthermore, this courage shows us another aspect of Yachiyo’s human aspect. She didn’t make a straight line for spare parts. She tried to dress, visit the shrine, make friends with animals, drink her spit, pray silently for strangers, and ride her pegasus home. These “meaningless” activities are spices of life. To explain Kurt vonnegut, we put it on the earth to fart.
Although too many people deserve praise for the artistic achievements of this episode, I will name it Yoshiaki Fujisawa As a secret MVP. He has been creating great soundtracks for years and I listen to OSTS often l and Revue Starlight Until today. His job Hotel Revelation He has always been great, too, but he did his best this week. While Yachiyo’s adventures may be based on a natural atmosphere alone, I think Fujisawa’s contribution enhances the emotional experience. A quiet and curious piano narrates Yachiyo’s journey along the memory trail, and Brian Eno– Style soundscape follows her further into the city. Her last return to Gingarou flight was quite appropriate with the Disney musical Schmaltz. This is a variety of styles of Fujisawa nails.
What else can I say? Watch the plot! Or re-watch it. Rarely do we get the artistic resilience of this conception and execution. Ultimately, this is from Hotel RevelationAnarchic soul. No two episodes are the same, so I hope next week’s ending will do my own thing. That’s the way it should be. Neither Yachiyo nor the show retreated from the chaos of life. They encounter it head-on. They embraced it tenderly. They take it to the intestine and fly it toward the intestine. We should all desire to do the same.
