World Webtoon Festival Returns to Seoul in October – News

The government-led World Network Festival attracted fans’ turnout last year when it debuted, and the festival will return in Seoul from October 19 to October 22, 2025.
Organized by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism (MCST), Korean creative content agency (KOCCA), the campaign aims to promote South Korea’s position as the birthplace of the Internet footsteps. This year’s festival will span Lotte World Mall and Lotte World Adventure, which includes pop-up shops, awards, exhibitions, displays and Webtoon Work Fairs.
This year’s edition will expand its pop-up footprint with 11 stores that will open on October 16, beyond the dates of the core festival.
The main highlight will be the Second World Website Awards Ceremony, which is scheduled for the last day of the festival. The award will now emphasize international engagement to address the event’s lack of genuine global criticisms. The organizers plan to invite prominent international creators and producers of web-based content.

The festival will also focus on cross-media network channel IP and showcase movies, games and animation adaptations in 300-seat theaters Lotto Cinema World Tower. Additionally, the job fair will connect aspiring web creators to the production company.
