Japanese government honors manga creators Go Nagai (Devilman, Invincible Iron King Kong, lovely honey, Getterbot) and Dragon Quest game franchise creator Yuji Horii Orders of the Order of the Rising Sun were awarded to members of the Order of the Golden Rose on Monday in recognition of their significant service to the country. The two creators were announced by the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications among the 3,963 recipients of the Order of Merit awarded in the fall of the year.
The department will hold an awards ceremony on November 11.
Nagai debuted as a manga artist in 1967 Meimeishi Poliji and went on to create many classic and genre-defining works, including lovely honey, Devilman, Invincible Iron King Kong, Getterbotand Harland Academy.
