yes Can I ask for one last thing? Will it end with Scarlett beating God to death with her bare, bloody fist? I can only pray that we are lucky enough to witness such a grand spectacle. For now, I guess I’ll just have to happily wait for the day when our heroine can knock the tar out of the priests and reincarnated vassals of the gods. It was so fun to see Tereza get clocked like a fool for the first time. There’s no doubt that it would be more satisfying to see what Scarlett would do in her time. real For the girl’s blood.
Even though my lust for Carnage won’t really be complete until Scarlett is able to sprout wings and fly straight up to heaven, granting the Celestials the power they deserve, there’s at least one clearly evil Pope whose nickname is literally “The Scheming Social Climber,” so I have no doubt that Scarlett will be sowing plenty of mayhem in her upcoming adventures. Sure enough, the moment we saw Scarlet’s shining eyes and thought “She wants to hit him~”, we were all Julius.
Considering my track record of having little to no patience for most of the modern power fantasy novels that flood the market, you might be wondering how I haven’t grown tired of this show’s one perfectly good joke yet. Scarlett is apparently not the first to boil the whole oddity down to “an anime protagonist who everyone thinks is too weak to mercilessly beat her opponents to pieces; everyone is immediately proven wrong.” The difference, of course, is that Scarlett has a distinct personality and is a very gluttonous one. While our protagonist is clearly enjoying knocking down the defenses of the Parmian Wall, it’s impossible not to have fun with her. only if dubbing Constantly throwing out little gems like a confused guard responding to Scarlett’s request for his weapon with the most ineffective “…no?” in history.
Additionally, there are a growing number of crazy weirdos who are hopelessly fascinated by Scarlett’s superpowers. This week, we meet Dios, who somehow manages to capture a similar silky strangeness to Julius and Alfrem’s operations while still giving a unique flavor of madness to add to the mix. British dubbing director, Emily Fajardohas very clearly understood the mission of giving life to Scarlett’s illegitimate harem. Each of these boys captures the essence of what my wife lovingly calls the “cheeky little bastard” archetype. Of course, these are definitely her favorites, and I can only assume many fans of the show are eating them just as well this season.
Of course, Scarlett is a worthy blood queen, so it’s natural for her to spread love across the gender spectrum, even if it goes completely against her own intentions. Diana is the quintessential, lovable, Little Sister type, but also clearly obsessed with the protagonist type, balancing the cast well, especially since she has a bubbly side that she’s more than willing to show off to Julius. What I really love about her and Scarlett’s dynamic is that it showcases Scarlett’s deep emotional intelligence. If Scarlett is your typical potato type, I imagine the show would be completely straightforward with Diana’s obsession; gosh, let’s be honest, it would almost certainly revel in fan serviceage gap be damned. While Scarlett is happy to hug Diana and give her some much-needed attention and care, the way she speaks to the poor girl comes across as more guarded and genuine caring. I think Scarlett clearly understands how Diana feels, but she does a good job of establishing appropriate boundaries without being condescending or tone-deaf.
It is this kind of excellent writing that makes Can I ask for one last thing? What a joy to watch. Even though this episode is relatively light-hearted, it also has a lot of good laughs and a lot to watch. Diana was right about one thing, that’s for sure. we all should Prayers to our dear Saint Scarlet.
