World Webtoon Festival Attracts More Than 200,000 Visitors – News

2025 World Online Comics Festival event Held in Seoul from October 19th to 22nd, it attracted approximately 210,000 visitors.

The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism (MCST) hosts this event Korea Creative Content Promotion Agency The Korean Cultural Association (KOCCA) hosted the event to solidify Korea’s status as the birthplace of web comics and demonstrate the scalability and sustainability of web comic intellectual property. The festival brings together creators, companies and fans, highlighting the continued global growth of webcomics.

An 11-day pop-up exhibition was held at Lotte World Mall from October 16 to 26. A total of 12 companies participated, including Naver Webtoon, Daon Creative, The Grim Entertainment, Dicheng Mediareddis studio, seoul media comicsMSstoryHub and cry. The two companies displayed 35 webcomic IP character products and limited edition products.

About 42,000 people attended the event on opening day. The maximum single purchase amount is approximately US$2,500, and the average consumption per visitor is approximately US$33, which demonstrates the market potential of webcomic-related products.

From October 19th to 22nd, the main exhibition and stage program attracted approximately 97,000 visitors to the “Webtoon World” area. With the theme of “The Past, Present and Future of Web Comics”, the main exhibition features more than 200 web comic IPs, demonstrating their expansion into the fields of movies, performances and games.

The event also hosted the 2nd Annual World Online Comics Conference Awards.
